Zack Galen Sanders, MD, FAAP

Dr. Zack Galen Sanders opened is private pediatric practice in Bossier City in July, 1980. Over the years, he has seen countless patients grow up and bring their children back to him as patients. He is even on the third generation of patients for some families.

Dr. Sanders grew up in Bossier City and attended Bossier Parish Schools. He graduated from Bossier High School, as class Valedictorian in 1970. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Centenary College in 1973. He completed LSU Shreveport Medical School in 1977 and did his Pediatric Internship and Residency at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport from 1977-1980. He served as Chief Resident in Pediatrics during his last year there. 

He has practiced in his home community since then. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society, Bossier Parish Medical Society, and the Northwest Louisiana Pediatric Society. He has served as a clinical professor at LSU Medical School, Chief of Staff at Bossier Medical Center, Committee Member of the Louisiana State Medical Society, Consultant to the Bossier Head Start, and Consultant to Bossier Parish School nurses. He completed his M.B.A. degree from Centenary College in 1998, and he is currently on the Board of Directors of Willis Knighton Bossier Health Center where he is on Active Staff. 

Dr. Sanders is married to Kathy Gardener Sanders of Bossier City. They have two daughters, Merideth and Ellen, and one grandson, Wyatt. His hobbies include travel, working out, collecting and restoring late '60's muscle cars, and racing his Z06 Corvette when he can. 

Dr, Sanders' philosophy has always been to treat his patients in the same manner that he would like for his own family and children to be treated. He listens to his parents and trusts their instincts to formulate a treatment plan for their child, along with his medical guidance. Dr. Sanders considers it an honor for you to trust the care of your child to him.
